xMOOC
« Back to Glossary Index

The xMOOC refers to a MOOC or massive open online course in which the teaching is provided solely by the trainer. The transmission is therefore top-down. The xMOOC therefore does not present a co-construction sequence between learners. Among other things, there is no sub-group work or peer evaluation. In short, this type of MOOC follows the classroom model. However, it has the potential to reach several thousand learners as it is delivered via the Internet. It is not limited to a few dozen students, but reaches more people.
