Tracking, or suivi in French, refers to the collection of various digital navigational information and the creation of a learning device for distance learning or digital learning courses. It should be emphasised that this information is collected using an LMS or learning management system platform, or via an HRIS or Human Resources Information System. It also makes it possible to highlight collective indicators (success and completion rates of a training programme) or individual indicators (progress and attendance of each learner). In the field of digital marketing, tracking can also be defined as the analysis and recording of user behaviour on the web.
