Responsive Web Design
« Back to Glossary Index

Responsive web design is an approach to web design that aims to develop sites that offer every user an always optimal browsing and reading experience, regardless of the range of devices they use. Examples include reading lights, tablets, mobile phones, desktop monitors, etc. It is good to know that a “Responsive” user experience is only considered “successful” when it involves minimal multi-directional page scrolling, cropping and zooming or resizing. It should be noted that the term Responsive web design was coined in May 2010.
