MOOC
« Back to Glossary Index

The MOOC or Massive Open Online Course can be defined as an open online training device. Registration is therefore generally free of charge. This system can also support a large number of enrollees, hence the term “massive”. However, each MOOC is aimed at a very specific target group. People who cannot cook, for example, should turn to a culinary MOOC. For training to be effective, it is essential to spend an average of two to four hours a week on it. For the longest MOOCs, the periods range from four to eight weeks. Note that the learner is free to organise himself or herself as he or she wishes.
