« Back to Glossary Index

The main aim of Metacognitive Pedagogy or Metacognition is to stimulate learners’ thinking. This ensures that their performance and skills are improved. In order to find their own keys, these learners are obliged to become aware of their mechanisms for acquiring skills and knowledge. In this case, their learning process will be well optimised and organised. It should be noted that metacognitive pedagogy has a number of advantages. In any case, it is important to know that Metacognition can also be defined as “thinking about one’s own thoughts”.
