Connectivism
« Back to Glossary Index

Connectivism refers to a kind of learning theory. It was developed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes. As its name suggests, it is mainly based on the contributions of new technologies. In short, this theory of learning therefore demonstrates the progressive influence of new technologies in the daily life of everyone (belonging to communities of practice, social networks, searching for information on the web, etc.). This, of course, changes each individual’s learning methods. With this recent theory, it is now possible for everyone to build their own knowledge themselves thanks to these new technologies and connectivity.
