Community of Practice
« Back to Glossary Index

The community of practice refers to a group of people who share a hobby, a passion, a field of expertise, etc. They exchange their knowledge and know-how. To do this, they pass on their knowledge and their different experiences within this community. It should be noted that all learners belong to one or more communities of practice, regardless of the field in which they work. It should also be noted that the community of practice can be informal or formal. The difference lies in whether or not it is recognised by the company’s management.
