A <a href=\"https:\/\/seriousfactory.com\/blog\/en\/avoid-the-death-by-powerpoint-phenomenon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">series of slides<\/a>, a few quizzes, an automatic certificate\u2026 and nothing changes in your actual practice.<br>You\u2019re not alone: this type of training is still the norm. Yet it rarely delivers on its promise. Worse, it drains learner motivation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So what are instructional designers really looking for today?<br>To create training that drives behavior change, prepares for action, and leaves a lasting mark.<br>And there\u2019s one underused lever for that: <strong>learning by doing<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:13px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning by Doing<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>The data is clear:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>80% of information is forgotten within 48 hours<\/strong> if not applied<br><em><a href=\"https:\/\/pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/articles\/PMC8520435\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ebbinghaus, 1885 \u2013 The Forgetting Curve<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We retain just 10% of what we read, but 75% of what we do<\/strong><br><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.educationcorner.com\/the-learning-pyramid\/?utm_source=chatgpt.com\">National Training Laboratories<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet, how many e-learning programs still rely on passive formats?
